Our roots run deep in Texas. Box was founded in 1920 by a local bank in Grapevine, Texas. D.E. Box, who owned the Tarrant County State Bank, thought offering homeowners and business insurance would complement banking services and help protect the collateral. Automobile insurance didn’t really become popular until 1927. The Box family then sold the insurance agency in 1978 to the Parker family as a result of banking law changes. Clydene Parker (now Johnson) owned and operated Box Insurance for 29 years. Box Insurance was one of the few insurance agencies in Texas owned by a woman and to this day continues to advocate for and encourage women in leadership in business.
In 2007, Clydene retired and handed the reins to her youngest son, Dustin Parker. Since then, Box has expanded into four distinct companies: Commercial Insurance, Construction Surety, Financial Planning, and Insurance Software. The executive leadership at Box is committed to relationship with God and is diligent in pursuing and releasing the Kingdom of Heaven into the marketplace. Box is one of only a few businesses known in Texas to have a prayer room available for people in the marketplace to come and connect with God during business hours.
